One Year From Today
Roughly that is, I will finally get out of this house. My lease is up at the end of next June. I want to be out of here around a week early so that I can have time to clean and such, so I'm hoping to close on the new house around June 22nd, 2009. I had hoped for 6/20 but that is a Saturday.

Before I go any further with my planning, I have to have a minor freakout. I just semi outed myself to my cousin. I hope she doesn't take it badly or tell my aunt before I have a chance to. I wanted to message her asking her not to but I wanted to wait and see if she picked up and what her response was. With all my stressing, she'll friend me and won't say a word. Oh well. We'll see. I get to have a root canal tomorrow. I was going to say my first and hopefully last but I don't want to tempt anything else. I'm just hoping this is the end of the major tooth stuff for a while. It's expensive!

So, if the market keeps falling the way it is, the houses I want will probably be anywhere from 140K-160K. I'm in shock about that because when I bought my house in MA, I believe I paid 114-119 or something like that and it was at least 20 years older. My dream house here in AZ is 1 story, 2 car garage (almost all the houses I've seen that have garages have either 2-3 car instead of 1, so that shouldn't be an issue, 3-4 bedrooms, pool and in a quiet neighborhood. I really want a hot tub and or a whirlpool tub in the bathroom but I can live without them. I also want the master bedroom seperate from the others like I'e got now.

In the next year, in order to make the above happen, I have to

have aprox another 10-12K minimum saved.

pay off all but 3 of the ccs and have those down to 30% or less of the balance. (Piece of cake, should have that done by Dec)

raise my credit score as high as possible. My highest is 614 and I'd really like to get it up another 30 points. I want my low to be at least 600 and that may take some doing.

cut out any expenses I can. I plan to get rid of netflix in the next month or so which will help slightly. Once I get the ccs paid off, that'll free up more also and the ER bill will be paid soon.

I also need to go through my DVDS and organize them again. Books as well. The ones I don't think I'll read again would make great paperback swap or library donations.

Once and for all, I need to figure out what to do with the soda cans I've been saving since I moved in. Getting full in the garage.

go through and put my pictures in albums. I can organize them and caption them later, I just need to get them in some sort of working order

I think these are the big projects. It's going to be a good year. I also need to start getting in better shape and lose weight. More as I think about it...just got a call.

Good luck to you! Out of all the things on your list, I think raising your credit score is the most important due to the economy. Lenders are really gun-shy about lending right now.

That's what I'm afraid of. When I lived in Ma, it was harder too cause I was self employed and had some collections that have finally dropped off. I'm hoping when I get the few credit cards I have that are almost maxed out down, that'll help raise it a bit too. Thanks! Hope you guys are doing well.
