What a difference 5 years makes
I think I've mentioned that I'm planning to move in June. My parents are coming for a week (trying so hard not to stress) in Feb and partly cause I can't wait, partly cause I was trying to find things to do to keep us busy and partly cause my dad loves to look at houses too, I contacted a mortgage person to see what I'd qualify for so I could show the realtor I was serious and not just looking, even though it'll be early.

I got my last mortgage in 2004 and I can't remember the interest rate but I aproximated today. If I was trying to get a mortgage with what my credit score was then, (about 60 or so points lower I think,) I would have had to pay $500 more a month than I'm probably going to minimum and I never would have been able to afford the kind of house that I want. I'm in shock and sooo happy. I started writing this 2 hours ago and kept getting distracted, so I need to go to bed now but I'll try to write more regularly.

Also, the only reasons I'm stressing about my parents is that I can't work when they're around cause they don't know what I do and wouldn't agree with it and they're coming for an entire week. I'm used to living alone and when I go to visit them, I'm ready for downtime after 4 or 5 days. Plus, it's stressful for me to have company. I prefer to be the company even if it is family. I hope that doesn't come off as horrible but I just wanted to try to clarify.
